Children’s Day Celebration

“There is no garden as beautiful as Childhood”. Every child is a different kind of flower; together they make this world a beautiful garden. A day marking childhood – Children’s Day celebrations focus on children and their enjoyment. The day is celebrated to pay tribute to the legendary freedom fighter and our first Prime minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru popularly known as Chacha. St John International School always strives to emerge out with something new for its students and children’s day being a day especially for them.

The teachers thought of a different beat and gifted a fun. As it is generally seen, students
perform for teachers on various occasions, but today on 14th November 2019 at SJIS School teachers gave various performances for the students in order to express their love and care for them. The program started with a comedy skit, a classical dance by the teachers of the school followed by a Bollywood Dance-Garba. The students were also enthralled by the group song by all the teachers together and the Mimicry by the Senior Teacher Ms Mary. A skit on the importance of education was very eye opening. The power-packed performance set the stage on fire. The students were overwhelmed with the entire effort. They cheered their teachers on as they saw them on stage, they laughed boisterously at their jokes. The school was buzzing with excitement and joy.

To highlight the importance of this day an informative speech was given by Principal Sr Apoline Pais. She urged the students to follow the path of truth and integrity, the values which Pandit Nehru lived on. She also insisted the students to keep intact the child in each one of us to make this world a better place to live in.

The icing on the cake and the most surprising element of the day was the ‘Magic Show’ presented by Mr Iqbal- The Magician. The magician performed several tricks on stage which left the children astonished and mesmerized. He called up a few students and teachers and performed astounding tricks with them. The children remained glued to the show till it ended. This helped the children amplify their observation skills and concentration.

The day ended in a beautiful resonance lingering in everybody’s minds with the refreshments provided to the students and staff. The entire programme was applauded by everybody present and will always remain etched in the memory of one and all.
