      Introduction

On 21st April 2025, St. John International School, Palghar, organized an engaging and vibrant Storytelling Competition for students of Grades VI and VII. The event was spearheaded by the in-charge teacher, Mr. Sudhakar Patil, with the primary goal of providing young learners an opportunity to express their creativity and enhance their communication skills. Held in the school quadrangle, the competition witnessed participation from 23 enthusiastic students, all eager to showcase their storytelling talents.

Event Details

The competition commenced at 11:00 AM with a warm welcome by Mr. Sudhakar Patil. Each participant was allotted a specific time to narrate their story. The panel of judges, Ms. Tanya Pullat and Ms. Deepa Suryawanshi, assessed the participants based on the following criteria:Content , Creativity,Clarity , Voice Modulation,Engagement , Audience Interaction , Confidence and  Expression.
The students captivated the audience with their gripping plots, expressive voices, and imaginative storytelling techniques. Their ability to bring stories to life through vivid narration and emotive delivery was truly commendable

Judging and Evaluation

The judges carefully evaluated each participant, providing insightful and constructive feedback focused on enhancing narrative techniques, vocal expression, and stage presence. After thoughtful deliberation, winners were selected based on their overall performance. All participants received appreciation for their sincere efforts and enthusiasm.

Conclusion

The Storytelling Competition was a resounding success, fulfilling its purpose of nurturing young storytellers, boosting their confidence, and instilling a lasting love for literature. It served as a valuable platform for students to express themselves creatively and learn from their peers. The school looks forward to hosting similar events in the future to continue supporting students’ all-round development.
