AI Awareness Session
Date: 23rd July 2025
Venue: Department of Artificial Intelligence, SJCEM
Resource Person: Mrs. Juily Tarade
Learning Outcome:
1) To Recognize the difference between AI, Machine Learning, and Robotics.
2) To Explore simple AI tools or platforms and understand how they function.
On 23rd July 2025, the students of Classes XI and XII from St. John International School, Palghar, visited the Artificial Intelligence Department at St. John Engineering College. The purpose of this educational visit was to provide students with an introductory understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its practical use in various fields. The session was conducted by expert faculty members and student researchers from the engineering college.
During the session, students were introduced to the basics of AI, including its evolution, real-life applications like voice assistants, recommendation systems, and autonomous vehicles, as well as its role in future careers. They explored three AI tools—DETT-AI, which supports decision-making and data analysis; Eraser.io, which helps create flowcharts from text inputs, ideal for coding and logical thinking; and Gamma AI, which assists in designing presentations from simple notes using automated layout and design suggestions. The hands-on demonstrations gave students a clear understanding of how AI can make academic tasks more efficient and creative.
The session was highly interactive and informative. Students expressed great interest in the tools presented and were particularly impressed by how AI simplifies complex processes like flowchart creation and presentation making. This visit inspired many to consider future careers in AI and related fields, marking the session as a valuable and enriching experience for all participants.
