Vocational Training Visit to the Automobile Lab

Date: 15/07/2026

Grade: VI A, B

Venue: Automobile Lab, Engineering College

Learning outcome of the Activity:

1) Students identified the major parts of an automobile and understood their functions.

2) Students understood the importance of vehicle maintenance and road safety.

3) Students recognised the functions of key AC components such as the compressor, condenser, evaporator, and blower.

Report of the activity: As part of the Vocational Training Programme, Grade 6 students visited the Automobile Laboratory to gain practical exposure to the basics of automobile technology. During the visit, students learned about the major parts of an automobile, including the engine, gearbox, clutch, braking system, steering system, suspension, battery, and tyres, along with their basic functions.

Mr. Prashant Gharat also demonstrated the working of the automobile air conditioning (AC) system. Students were introduced to its main components, such as the compressor, condenser, receiver/drier, expansion valve, evaporator, blower fan, and refrigerant. They learned how the AC system removes heat from the vehicle cabin to provide cool air and understood the importance of regular maintenance for safe and efficient operation.

The session included demonstrations, interaction with automobile components, and a question-and-answer session, making the learning experience engaging and practical.
