Learning Outcome-Students were able to:

1.Explain the basic operations performed on a lathe machine and recognize its importance in engineering and manufacturing.

2.Understand the significance of quality control, sustainability, and environmental conservation in the cement industry.

An educational session on the Lathe Machine and UltraTech Cement was organized for  students of Grade IX to provide practical exposure to engineering and industrial manufacturing. The session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of modern industrial processes and their real-life applications.

During the Machine Shop session, students were introduced to the Lathe Machine, one of the most important machines used in engineering workshops. The instructor explained its construction, working principle, and various parts such as the headstock, tailstock, carriage, chuck, and cutting tool. Students learned how a lathe machine rotates a workpiece while a cutting tool removes material to produce cylindrical objects with high precision. The importance of safety precautions while operating the machine was also emphasized through a live demonstration.

The second session focused on UltraTech Cement, where students learned about the cement manufacturing process, from the extraction of raw materials to the production and packaging of cement. The session also highlighted the company’s commitment to quality, sustainable manufacturing practices, and environmental conservation. Students gained valuable insights into the role of cement in building roads, bridges, homes, and other essential infrastructure.

The session was interactive and informative, allowing students to ask questions and clarify their doubts. It helped them understand the practical applications of science and engineering concepts taught in the classroom.

Overall, the educational session was enriching and inspiring. It provided students with valuable industrial exposure, encouraged scientific curiosity, and motivated them to explore future careers in engineering, manufacturing, and technology.
