Cooking Competition

St. John International School believes in creating responsible citizens. Hence, as a part of World Food Day, students got engaged themselves in some culinary skills to bring awareness on healthy eating and reduce wastage.
The objective of this celebration was to promote awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger and for the need to ensure healthy diets for all.
Fruit Salad Making Competition was held for students from grades I to VIII. The objective behind the competition was to inculcate healthy food habits and awareness regarding the choice of food among the growing children. The participants’ creativity was revealed through the beautiful designs and patterns formed with different mouth-watering salad. The students displayed various types of fruit salads such as Watermelon Basket salad, Combo salad, Jumbo salad, Pineapple basket and many more ingenious salads using commonly available ingredients. The participants explained the specialty of their salad and also the importance of including salad in our regular diet for maintaining good health and keeping diseases away. Meanwhile Grade IX to XI tried their hands-on Cake decoration. In all approximately 220 students participated in this school activity.
Cleanliness, safety, taste and presentation were the basic criteria for the judgment. Judges exhorted upon the students to make salad eating a routine habit for enabling them to maintain a healthy life.
