Debate is a process that involves formal discussion on a particular topic. In a debate, opposing arguments are put forward to argue for opposing viewpoints. It gives students an opportunity to practice speaking in front of an audience and thinking on their own.
On 27th July 2018 a Debate Competition was held in the School’s Auditorium. Students of Std. V to IX participated in this competition. Topics given for the Debate were Coaching Classes – the Advantages & Disadvantages, Science Technology – Curse or Boon and Smart Phone – Curse or Boon.
Students typically don’t know their debate subjects ahead of time. The goal is to come up with a good argument in a short period of time. The debate starts with the topic given to the affirmative group and the opponent group then opposes them, The students enjoyed this session.
