Educational Visit  to Automobile Lab

Date: 23/07/2025

Grade  : VI A, B

Venue : Automobile Lab, Engineering College

Learning outcome of the Activity:

1) Students will learn about the basic components of an automobile, such as the engine, transmission, wheels, brakes, and suspension system.
2) Students will gain an understanding of how these components work together to make a vehicle move.

Report on the Activity: As a part of the vocational learning initiative, the students of Grade 6 from St. John International School participated in an educational visit to an automobile lab. The visit was organized to provide students with practical knowledge about the functioning of vehicle engines and to enhance their understanding of automobile mechanics.

During the session, students had the opportunity to observe and learn how a car engine works. The technical experts at the lab Mr. Prashant Mhatre gave a detailed demonstration of the different components of a car engine and explained how these parts are assembled to form a fully functioning unit. The session was interactive, and students were encouraged to ask questions and engage with the experts.

One of the highlights of the visit was the display of various types of vehicle engines. Students got a chance to see engines of different vehicles including cars, bikes, and heavy-duty vehicles. They were introduced to concepts such as internal combustion engines, diesel and petrol engines, and electric motors.

The session was both educational and inspiring, as it sparked curiosity and interest among the students towards automobile engineering and mechanical systems. It provided them with valuable insights beyond classroom learning and encouraged them to explore vocational skills in real-world settings.
