Although individual decisions may seem small in the face of global threats and trends, when billions of people join forces in common purpose, we can make a tremendous difference.
We at St. John International School, Palghar, celebrated the World Environment Day, 2022 with a great enthusiasm and zeal. An array of activities were organised by the members of the Eco club based on the theme Only one earth to sensitize the young minds and to contribute to raise environmental protection awareness among the population with a particular focus on youth. It started with the tree plantation drive initiated by the students of grade X wherein the students took a green pledge and vowed to preserve their environment and make the earth a better place to live in. It was followed by the Pot decoration activity with the saplings for the students of grade III to V. It gave an opportunity to the students to share their ideas and activities for making our world cleaner, greener, and brighter.
A saplings plantation by using reused bottle, activity was organised for the students of the Grade VI to VIII with the objective of creating awareness about organic plantation with less use of water and soil. The students of grade I and II participated with great enthusiasm as they walked through nature exploring the environment around them. The teachers were keen and excited to take the students on a nature walk.
In order to celebrate the World environment day a school bulletin board decoration competition was organised amongst the school houses . The event was conducted successfully with a great participation from the students to create awareness for a greener and sustainable world.
