       Introduction

                      The Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Creating Impact as a Teacher” was organized on 27th May 2025 to empower educators with innovative teaching strategies and address contemporary challenges in education. The event brought together faculty members from St. John International School, St. John Junior College, and Aldel High School, fostering collaborative learning and professional growth.

Event Details:

The Faculty Development Programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. Laveena Fernandes, who introduced the esteemed resource persons, Dr. Swati Salunkhe and Dr. Suchitra. The event began auspiciously with the traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony followed by a Universal Prayer, setting a positive tone for the day’s proceedings. Mr. Albert W. D’Souza, Chairman of the institution, along with Dr. Savita J. Tauro, Principal of St. John Institute of Pharmacy & Research, and Principals from participating institutes welcomed and honored the resource persons with tokens of appreciation. Mr. Albert D’Souza, our Chairman then delivered an inspiring address to the assembled faculty members, highlighting the evolving role of educators and emphasizing the significance of impactful teaching in today’s educational landscape.

The keynote session by Dr. Suchitra proved particularly insightful as she addressed several critical aspects of modern teaching, including the changing educational scenarios, contemporary challenges faced by teachers, the evolving role of educators, and practical strategies for creating meaningful impact in the classroom. The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Vidyalakshmi, who expressed sincere gratitude to all the resource persons, dignitaries, and participating faculty members for contributing to the success of this enriching professional development initiative. The event successfully provided educators with valuable insights and practical approaches to enhance their teaching effectiveness in today’s dynamic educational environment.
