Fit India movement – Fitness Week Celebration
St. John International School observed the nation-wide “Fit India Movement” with optimum energy and positivity. SJIS believes in making the younger generation physically and mentally fit. This movement therefore endeavours to alter this behaviour from ‘Passive Screen time’ to ‘Active Field time’ and the aim of the objective is to develop Sports Quotient among all the students to achieve a healthy lifestyle.
Various activities were strategised to instil in students teachers and parents the understanding for regular physical activity like-
• Yoga for all
• Fitness and nutrition awareness for students and staff
• Free hand exercise for all
• Mental fitness activities like symposium, debates, lectures etc.
• Fitness assessment of students through Khelo India App
• Activities like aerobics, yoga, martial arts, rope-skipping etc.
• Essay writing and poem writing on the theme “Fit India School”
• Sports Quiz for all
• Competition for teachers and parents.
The much hyped Fit India movement is great initiative to make the young future citizens of India hale and healthy.
