Handwriting Competition 2024-2025
‘Handwriting is a spiritual design, even though it appears by means of a material instrument.’
In today’s digital age, where most of our communication happens through electronic devices, the importance of good handwriting might seem less important. However, the truth is that good handwriting is still relevant and necessary in many aspects of life.
From filling out important documents to leaving a lasting impression on someone through a handwritten note, good handwriting can be a valuable asset. Moreover, there is a strong connection between handwriting and effective communication, making it an essential skill for students to develop.
Good handwriting contributes to reading fluency because it activates visual perception of letters. Inorder to provide students with an opportunity to display their competency of legible writing, an Intra Class English Handwriting Competition for grade VI to X was organised at St. John International School on 16th April 2024. The objective of this competition was to encourage students to improve their calligraphy skills and display their own style of writing in cursive.
The competition was organised in the respective classrooms. The students participated with a lot of excitement and passion. The judgement was done on the basis of legibility, flow and neatness.
