Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect on 15th August 2022 at St John International School, Palghar. The ceremony started at 9 am in the school open ground with staff, PTA members, students and parents. The program went live simultaneously on YouTube.
The Chairman of Aldel Education Trust, Mr. Albert W. D’Souza, Secretary, Madam Elvina D’Souza, Trust Member Mr. Aldridge D’Souza, Dean of academics Mrs. Savita Tauro, General Manager Mr. Satheesh Shetty, Principal of St. John International School, Sr. Veena Monteiro, Principal and Administrator of all Institutes on St. John Technical and Educational campus were escorted by the school band and student council.
To Commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, the Chief Guest Mr. Aldridge D’Souza unfurled the tricolor flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of our freedom. After the flag hoisting, the students of the four different houses started their march past and paid their respects to the National Flag.
A cultural Program had been organised where the students of the Choir group sang the Patriotic song, and students of various classes performed beautiful dances. There was a lezim display by students of Grade VI-IX. Patriotic message was given by Mst. Abhishek Sharma of Grade IX.
The Chief Guest of the function Mr. Aldridge D’Souza expressed his thoughts on Independence Day and inspired the gathering.
Ms. Purti Shukla of Class VIII gave Vote of thanks. The programme culminated with the playing of our National Song Vande Mataram.
