St. John International School celebrated International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2021. 

The Theme for the day was ‘Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, our school organised a series of activities and events to promote the significance of yoga and its benefits for physical and mental well-being. The event aimed to inspire students and teachers alike to embrace yoga as a regular practice in their lives.

The day began with a special assembly, where the importance of yoga was highlighted through a speech. The assembly commenced with the recitation of the Yoga Day Pledge, which emphasised the commitment to incorporating yoga into our daily routine for a healthier lifestyle.

Following the pledge, a quiz competition was held to test the knowledge of the students about yoga. The quiz covered various aspects, including the history of yoga, different yoga postures, and its benefits. The competition was engaging and helped create awareness among the participants about the diverse aspects of yoga.

The celebration continued with a singing performance by a group of talented students. They presented devotional songs and chants that are traditionally associated with yoga. The melodious tunes created a serene atmosphere and instilled a sense of tranquillity among the audience.

One of the highlights of the event was a yoga demonstration by expert yoga instructors. They showcased a variety of yoga asanas (postures) and explained their significance and benefits. The demonstration served as an inspiration for everyone to incorporate these practices into their daily routine. The participants had the opportunity to learn and practise different yoga postures under the guidance of the instructors.

The International Yoga Day celebration was a great success, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who participated. It reinforced the belief that yoga is not just a physical exercise but a way of life that promotes harmony and inner peace.
