Report on the activity

International Yoga Day was celebrated at St. John International School on 20th June 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and staff.

The programme commenced with a special assembly dedicated to the occasion, where students were sensitized to the importance and benefits of yoga in maintaining physical health and mental well-being.

This was followed by an engaging yoga session conducted by Mrs. Chandrakala Bhanushali and Mrs. Lucky Patel. The session began with warm-up exercises to prepare the body, followed by the practice of various asana, including standing, sitting, and lying postures such as Tadasana, Dhanurasana , Vrajasana,Savasana , Bhujangasana ( etc)

Students also participated in pranayama, laughter exercises, and breathing techniques, accompanied by the chanting of Om and the soothing Bhramari (honeybee) sound, which created a calm and focused atmosphere.

The session concluded with the felicitation of the resource persons by our Principal, Sr. Veena Monteiro, in appreciation of their valuable guidance and contribution.

The celebration was a meaningful experience, encouraging students to adopt yoga as a way of life for a healthier and more balanced future.
