The Investiture Ceremony of St. John International School for the academic year 2022-2023 was held with great pomp and dignity in a special ceremony. The event was presided over by the Secretary of Trust, Mrs. Elvina D’ Souza, the member of the Trust, Mr. Aldridge D’ Souza, the school Principal Sr. Veena Monteiro and the parents. It was conducted with a high degree of earnestness and passion.
The Investiture ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly invested office bearers. Donning the mantle of accountability, they also pledge to bestow their duties to the best of their abilities.
The ceremony was held with lots of zeal and zest. It commenced with the lighting of the lamp followed by prayer song, which signifies removal of darkness. A welcome dance was performed by students. Followed by this was the oath taking ceremony which was conducted by the Principal. The students’ council took the oath to hold the school motto of Loyalty, Truth and Honour in high esteem.
The elected Leaders were conferred with badges and sashes by Secretary of the Trust, Member of the Trust and the Principal. The Principal congratulated them and admonished them to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties. Followed by this was a dance performance by the students. Mr. Aldridge D’ Souza addressed the students. He reminded them that with position comes responsibility towards themselves, their school and peers and struggles help one to achieve heights.
He also appreciated and congratulated them. He advised them to be role models and extended a supporting hand to the students’ council for the smooth running of the school. The function concluded with the National Anthem.
