LEARNING OUTCOME OF THE ACTIVITY:
The Library Scavenger Hunt activity captured students’ interest and enthusiasm, providing an enjoyable and memorable experience in the library. Students gained a better understanding of the library layout, organization, and available resources through active exploration and discovery. Tasks included locating specific books or genres, exploring library resources, solving riddles related to library services, and answering trivia questions about famous authors and literary works.
ACTIVITY OVERVIEW:
“A library is a community of learners, and every scavenger hunt is an opportunity to engage with that community.”
Students gathered in the library where the librarian explained the rules and objectives of the treasure hunt. Each genre was associated with a unique clue or riddle that guided students to the relevant section of the library. They were tasked with locating books from genres such as Mystery, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Non-Fiction, Biography, Adventure, and Classic Literature. A brief discussion session followed, during which students shared their findings and reflections on the different genres. The tasks included finding specific books or genres, identifying library resources, solving riddles related to library services, and answering trivia questions about famous authors and literary works. The combination of competition and discovery made the event both enjoyable and educational, contributing positively to the students’ academic and personal development.
