Marathi Diwas
Marathi Diwas is a significant day celebrated by the people of Maharashtra to commemorate the birth anniversary of the famous Marathi poet, “Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar” , also known as Kusumagraj. Our school also celebrated Marathi Diwas with great enthusiasm and fervour.
The celebration started with a special assembly, which was attended by all the students, teachers, and the other staff members. The assembly began with Saraswati Vandana , followed by the lighting of the lamp by our school Principal Sr. Veena Monteiro ,Vice Principal Ms. Laveena Fernandes & Secondary Co-ordinator Ms. Vidyalakshmi Poojari. Ms.Drishti Mishra from grade 6, gave a brief information about the pioneer of Marathi literature, Kusumagraj.
Programme started with great zeal and enthusiasm.Hardiki Shinde and Kavya Vartak from grade 7, narrated Abhang and poem respectively.Group singing & dance performances by the students of grade 6 & 7 were adorned to this special occasion.
The special assembly culminated with’PASAYDAN’ followed by a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Jagruti Patil.
Overall, the celebration of the Marathi Diwas in our school was a grand success, and it helped in promoting the Marathi language and culture among the students.Students were also made to learn about the rich heritage and literature of Maharashtra through many various programmes.
