International Mother Language Day is a worldwide annual observance held on 21st February to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and to promote multilingualism.… The idea to celebrate International Mother Language Day was the initiative of Bangladesh.
Marathi being the official language of the state of Maharashtra, the main focus of the celebration was to promote the Maharashtrian culture amongst the students. A special assembly was conducted to celebrate Matribhasha Diwas.
