”Mental health is not a destination, it’s a journey.”
St. John International school had organised a session on Mental Health for students of grade 10th and 12th on 21st April 2025 .The session was conducted by Ms. Mukti Manai, Assistant Professor (Psychology) from St. John College of Humanities and Sciences.
The session started with an introduction to mental health and concerns regarding Mental health. Through the activity’ My Palm of Mental Health’ , the students understood the various factors impacting their mental health.The session provided a holistic approach to mental well-being, focusing on stress management techniques. Mindfulness practices, including meditation and deep breathing exercises, were discussed in detail, accompanied by practical tips for incorporating these practices into daily routines.
Strategies for recognizing signs and symptoms, both in oneself and others, were shared, fostering a deeper understanding of mental health challenges. Through the activity ‘STOP THINK and ACT, ‘students were made to understand how to handle their difficult emotionsThe session actively encouraged participants to seek help when facing mental health issues.The Q&A session facilitated open dialogue, allowing students to ask questions and share personal experiences. The session concluded with a mental health pledge and key takeaways from the session regarding mental health.
