National Reading Day helped students develop a deeper appreciation for reading, improve their literacy skills, and enhance creativity.
Report on the Activity:
National Reading Day, celebrated to promote literacy and a love for reading, was observed with enthusiasm at St. John International School on June 19th, 2025.
The celebration began with a song video and an engaging PPT presentation for Grades I & II, designed to capture young minds and build curiosity about books and stories. In Grade III, students engaged in a read-aloud activity, using expression and tone to bring stories to life, enhancing their fluency and comprehension.
In Grade IV, students participated in a bookmark-making activity, creating personalized bookmarks inspired by their favourite books. Meanwhile, Grade V students took part in an Author’s Chair activity, where they confidently shared their original writings with their peers, fostering creativity and public speaking skills.
The day was a vibrant celebration of literacy, creativity, and storytelling, reinforcing the importance of reading in shaping young minds.
