Report on the Activity:
An orientation session was held for newly appointed teachers to familiarize them with school policies, academic expectations, and professional responsibilities. Mrs. Vidyalakshmi addressed various key areas crucial to ensuring smooth integration and effective functioning within the school environment.
Teachers were informed about the importance of strict adherence to reporting time. Late arrivals will be recorded as late marks, and repeated instances will be subject to administrative review. The procedure for requesting casual leaves was explained. Teachers are expected to apply in advance and ensure minimal disruption to the academic schedule.
The school’s professional dress code policy was outlined. Teachers must maintain a neat and modest appearance at all times to serve as role models for students. She also explained that teachers are required to perform their assigned classroom duties punctually, including supervision during breaks and other designated times, to uphold student safety and order. Teachers must meticulously track daily attendance of students using the attendance register and report any irregularities immediately. Regular checks on student uniforms, haircuts, and nail hygiene were emphasized to maintain discipline and uphold the school’s standards of presentation.
Teachers were guided on maintaining academic documentation, including Daily planners, Log books, Preparation of exam blueprints, Yearly academic planning, Lesson plan development, etc. Effective discipline strategies and classroom management techniques were discussed to create a positive and productive learning environment. An overview of the school’s examination format, assessment schedules, and evaluation criteria was provided to align teaching practices with assessment requirements.
The orientation session successfully equipped new teachers with comprehensive knowledge about their roles and responsibilities. She encouraged an open line of communication for any future queries and emphasized the importance of teamwork in fostering a thriving educational community.
