Eid-ul-Fitr is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
Eid-ul-fitr is a festival of prayers, joy, happiness and brotherhood. The programme began with an informative speech by Nauman Shaikh a student of Std IX. He explained that those Muslims who have not given charity during the year known as zakat al-fitr, do so during Eid-ul-Fitr. Eid is a day for special prayers and an extension of generosity and forgiveness.
Some of our Muslim students recited the takbir (declaration of faith prayer). The programme ended on a very joyous note with the students wishing each other Eid Mubarak.
