Republic Day

On 26th January 1950, the constitution of India came into force and our country India became the Republic. This national festival was celebrated with a great pride and patriotism in the campus of St. John International School.
The programme started with a short introduction about the Republic Day, followed by the escorting of guest with the slow march past. The next in sequence was the prayer song thanking the almighty for this gift of freedom. After the prayer song the chief guest unfurled the flag. This was followed by the National Anthem and parade (stumping and hill march past).
Then the guests were welcomed. A speech was delivered on the Republic Day by one of the students, followed by a speech by the chief guest “Mr. Umesh Kantute”. After which a patriotic song was sung by the students. This was followed by an energetic dance performance by the students which stole the heart of every one present. Vote of thanks was proposed at the end. The programme ended with the spirit of brotherhood and nationhood in our mind and heart.
