Report on Session on Drone Technology, Metaverse, and Robotics

An informative and interactive educational session on Drone Technology, Metaverse, and Robotics was organized for the students of Grades XI and XII (Science) to enhance their understanding of emerging technologies and their real-world applications.

The programme commenced with an engaging session on Drone Technology, conducted by Ms. Karishma and Mr. Hemant. They introduced students to the fundamentals of drone technology, explaining the working principles, construction, components, and diverse applications of drones in sectors such as agriculture, surveillance, disaster management, mapping, and logistics. The session provided valuable insights into the rapidly evolving field of unmanned aerial systems.

Following this, the students visited the Metaverse Lab, where they experienced the fascinating world of Virtual Reality (VR) using Virtual Reality (VR) Headsets. During the session, Mrs. Deepika Nader explained the concept of the metaverse and demonstrated how VR technology is transforming industries, particularly the gaming sector, by creating immersive and interactive digital environments. The hands-on experience enabled students to appreciate the practical applications of virtual reality beyond entertainment.

The next session was conducted by Mr. Sandeep, who introduced students to the field of Robotics and Product Development. He explained the importance of developing prototypes before manufacturing full-scale robotic systems and highlighted the various stages involved in the design and development process. Students were also introduced to different robotic components, sensors, controllers, and mechanical parts commonly used in robotics, providing them with a comprehensive understanding of the discipline.

A major highlight of the visit was an interaction with a research scholar, who demonstrated an innovative project involving a fire-fighting robot capable of detecting and extinguishing a candle flame. The students learned how the robot identifies the flame using a combination of heat sensors, light sensors, and visual imaging systems before automatically extinguishing it. This live demonstration showcased the practical integration of electronics, programming, and artificial intelligence in solving real-life problems.

The entire programme proved to be an enriching and inspiring learning experience. It offered students firsthand exposure to cutting-edge technologies and encouraged them to explore future career opportunities in the fields of drone technology, virtual reality, robotics, and innovation. The visit successfully bridged the gap between classroom learning and real-world technological advancements, leaving students motivated to pursue further learning in these emerging domains.
