The story reading activity in the school library was successful in achieving its objectives of promoting reading habits and enhancing literacy skills among students in Grade III to V. The session not only provided an enjoyable experience but also contributed to the overall development of the students’ language and communication abilities.

ACTIVITY OVERVIEW:

“Every story holds a key to a new world. Unlock it with the power of reading!”

The objective of the story reading activity was to foster a love for reading among students, enhance their imagination, and promote literacy skills through engaging reading. The session began with an introduction to the art of story reading, emphasizing its importance in communication and understanding narratives. A variety of age-appropriate story books were selected beforehand to cater to the different interests and reading levels of students. Each story was read aloud by the students. After each story, there was a brief discussion to encourage students to share their thoughts, ask questions, and express their opinions about the plot, characters, and themes. Students engage in activities such as writing short summaries or new words and maintaining a library reading record during their scheduled library period.
