Vocational Training on Carpentry, Welding and Sheet Metal

Date: 23rd July 2025

Grade: VII A, B

Venue : Mechanical Workshop (Engineering)

Learning Objectives

  • To introduce students to basic skills in carpentry, welding, and sheet metal work.
  • To provide hands-on experience with tools and machines like CNC routers and grinding machines.
  • To spark interest in technical and engineering-related fields through practical exposure.

Report On Activity: On 23rd July, students of Grade 7 A and B from St. John International School attended a vocational training session at the Engineering Department. The session focused on developing hands-on skills in Carpentry, Welding, and Sheet Metal Work.

In the Sheet Metal Workshop, students actively participated in making a dust collector and a mobile stand. They learned how to cut metal sheets, soften edges, and drill using a drilling machine. The instructors also demonstrated various machines such as the Wood Router Machine, CNC Router Machine, Angular Grinding Machine, and Bench Vise Machine.

The session concluded with live demonstrations of carpentry and welding jobs, giving students a real-world understanding of technical skills. The training was informative and engaging, encouraging students to take interest in engineering and vocational fields.
