Report on the Activity:
On 19th April 2026, students of Grade VII and VIII from St. John International School participated in the WSRO Robotics Championship — 2026 at the regional level held at Lakshdham High School, Goregaon (E).
The students were guided by Mentor Teacher Mr. Kunal More,Mrs.Pratiksha Sankhe and were accompanied by peers from the Engineering Department, who provided technical support and assistance throughout the event.
The championship provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their knowledge and practical skills in robotics, programming, and teamwork. Students participated enthusiastically in various events such as Jr. Robo Race, Jr. Line Following (Non-Lego), and STEM Balloon Car Race.The event witnessed participation from 45 schools in Robo Race, 14 schools in Line Following, and 11 schools in the STEM Balloon Car event, making the competition highly competitive and enriching
The event began with practice sessions, including:
- Robo Race Practice Round
- Practice Round for Balloon Car
- Settling in the Pit Area
Additionally, Sensor Calibration Round and Qualification Round were conducted for Line Following and Robo Race, where all teams successfully cleared the qualification round, demonstrating strong preparation and technical understanding.
The competition officially started with a practice session from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by multiple stages including Round 1, Round 2, Quarter-finals, Semi-finals, and Final rounds. The event was highly competitive with participation from various schools.
Students actively engaged in designing, building, and programming their robots, showing great teamwork and innovation.
Performance Highlights:
- STEM Balloon Car Team reached up to the Quarter Finals.
- Robo Race Team successfully progressed up to the 2nd Round.
- In Line Following (Non-Lego):
- One team was eliminated in Round 1.
- The team of Parth Vishal Sorte and Ana Nilesh Patil performed exceptionally well, securing a position in the Top 5 and qualifying for the National Level.
The National Round will be held in Ahmedabad.
Achievement:
The team of Parth Vishal Sorte and Ana Nilesh Patil qualified for the National Level Competition and secured a place among the Top 5 teams, bringing great pride to the school.

The WSRO Robotics Championship — 2026 was a highly enriching and motivating experience for all participants. It provided students with real-world exposure to robotics competitions, enhancing their technical knowledge, confidence, and teamwork skills.
