India is a secular country with diversified cultures, religions and languages. As an endeavour to build the bond of oneness and unity, the country celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel on 31st October as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day).
In line with the celebrations countrywide, St. John International School following the mandate organized various activities in the school premises in order to extend their heartfelt appreciation about the life and the involvement of the great leader, Sardar Patel, in the freedom struggle.
A special morning assembly was organized. The programme started with the lighting of the lamp by the principal followed by an impressive speech made by Sampada Yadav a student of Std.VI on the life and history of Sardar Vallabhai Patel.
The school choir presented a patriotic song on National Unity titled “ EK tu hi bharosa…. Ek tu hi sahara ” An oath on National unity and solidarity was taken by the teachers and the students where they pledged to work hard in laying a foundation of a unified country. A fashion show showing the diversity of the Indian culture was presented by the students. Master.
Satyam Chaudhary recited a poem in Hindi based on the National Unity. A short skit was presented by the students depicting the secularism, oneness, integrity and national unity. A vote of thanks was proposed by Madhavi Patel. Grade VI students participated in Prabhat Pheri & Grade IX students participated in the run for unity campaign around the campus. The programme ended with great enthusiasm with the students promising to work towards the unity of the country.
